There is quite the diversity among the islands – some very poor, while others are very affluent. Some mountainous like Jamaica, while others like Aruba are desert like. Latin America is generally understood to consist of South America, Mexico and Central America. The Maya, Inca, and Aztecs people built great civilizations in Mexico and in Central and South America 2,800 years ago and that’s what makes it so interesting to explore. Many of these ruins are still there.
